The owner of the weapon that caused the injury is totally responsible for the minor gaining access to it unless someone can prove one of the adults present in the home , illegally forced open a secured area/container to get the firearm. There is NO excuse for not properly securing a firearm to the best of one’s ability. A great tragedy without question but it does not negate the value of the incalculable lives the presence of a firearm has preserved.
